A collection of our three Roman condiments and herb mix, perfect for anyone interested in Roman cookery and flavours.

Garum is a fish based sauce that appears in just about every Roman recipe. It is basically a substitute for salt, but adds some extra fish and umami flavour (see here for more details).

Defrutum is made by boiling down grape must, with figs and fennel. It is delicious in sauces, gravy, dressings, over sweet dishes, or add a dash to a drink (see here for more details).

Roman Mix is a  Roman spice and herb mix and is largely based upon the Roman collection of recipes, known as Apicius, or De re culinaria. It brings together a collection of herbs and spices used throughout a lot of Roman recipes, bringing an authentic flavour to your dishes. It can be used to add authentic Roman flavour to any stew, or use as a rub when grilling meat or fish. (see here for more details)
